TBL architects is a design team specializing in and committed to excellence in large-scale system integrated building projects.

TBL architects is an umbrella company of three leading Icelandic design firms, two in architecture and one in the field of landscape architecture.
With a pooling capacity of over 70 designers and technicians and combined design experience of hundreds of projects, TBL is uniquely capable of taking on the most demanding of projects.

TBL has to date completed Alcoa Fjarðaál´s state-of-the-arts aluminium smelter in eastern Iceland in collaboration with HRV engineering and Bechtel. In addition TBL has done design studies for an extension to RioTintoAlcan existing facility in southwest Iceland.

Outside of the TBL banner, the offices have worked on projects such as Nesjavellir and Hellisheiði geothermal power plants for Orkuveita Reykjavíkur (OR), Bjarnarflag and Þeystareykir geothermal power plants for Landsvirkjun, The Elkem ferro-silicon plant at Grundartangi, Headquarters for the Síminn telecommunication company and Arion Bank, The Icelandic National Stadium and additions and renovation to the Icelandic Parliament buildings.
